Submit & review approvals
Follow a separate review step when your workspace requires approval before release.
2 min readWhen approval is required
The writer shows whether the current check requires approval. While review is pending, signing, printing, and email remain locked. Plan, account settings, and permissions determine which approval features are available.
Submit a check
- Complete and review the check details and supporting documents.
- Use the writer’s submit-for-approval action.
- Wait for another authorized person to review the submitted version.
- After approval, reopen the check and use the available print or send action.
The person who created the check cannot serve as its separate approver.
Review a check
If you have approval access, open Approvals. Review the correct business, bank, payee, amount, and supporting documents before recording your decision. Use the review controls and feedback field shown on the check.
An approval allows the reviewed version to proceed. It does not itself confirm printing or payment.
Changes and resubmission
Changes requested means the reviewer rejected that version. Read the feedback, correct the draft, and resubmit. Changes to a previously reviewed version can make its approval outdated and require a fresh review.
If status is unavailable or the check changed while you were reviewing it, refresh its status and inspect the latest version before continuing. Ask the account owner to check reviewer access if nobody can approve it.
